Tecdia’s high-K, Grain Boundary Barrier Layer (GBBL) based capacitors boast a dielectric constant of up to 50,000, which is the highest in the market for mass production. The company works closely with clients to deliver competitively priced, customized, and complete SLC devices specific to their electronic component needs. To proactively understand clients’ requirements, Tecdia’s experts continuously follow up or observe their development activities. As a result of regular communications with clients, and their effort to fulfill customers’ needs, the company identified a hole in the market and consequently positioned themselves to meet the growing demand for components with tunable capacitance, such as varactors. Wolfe recalls that initially, the demand came through a single client but soon, they realized that numerous customers would be interested in this technology.

After years of challenging work, the company succeeded in developing their own variable capacitance components with substantial variability and unrivaled linearity that can offer the highest performance, specifically for millimeter-wave applications. This component can do wonders for the clients manufacturing devices such as beam forming antennas, voltage control oscillators, or tunable filters.

Tecdia also produces customized capacitors, such as mini or micro-level capacitors, depending on clients’ needs. For example, the company has recently finished a capacitor miniaturization project for an electronic test and measurement device manufacturer. No other manufacturer could commit to the project due to the complexity involved. With a legacy forged by never turning down any opportunity, Tecdia started working on it and successfully built a “006006” form-factor (6x6 mils) capacitor, 40 percent smaller than other capacitors currently available in the market. Similarly, the company built a custom capacitor solution with an aspect ratio of 1:6 for another client.
